Our Story

The Founder of Trades Up, Michelle, faced a problem we can all relate to: finding good Tradespeople. As a single mom with a busy life, she didn't have time to search through phone books, scour the internet and deal with untrustworthy sites.

When her house got broken into, she needed a Tradie fast. But the first one she hired wasn't certified and messed up the job. She had to hire another Tradie to fix it properly. This experience got her thinking: there had to be a better way. That's when she had an idea: Why not make it easier to find trustworthy Tradespeople?

Combining forces with her daughter Alex, who holds a post-graduate degree in Communications, they formed a formidable mother-daughter duo, and Trades Up was born.

Trades Up is a simple App that connects New Zealanders with verified Tradespeople in their area. No more searching through phone books or worrying about unqualified Tradespeople. Just reliable help when you need it.
